Wonderful places to eat and drink around the world

As we travel extensively, we thought we should share the great places we find to eat and drink along the way. Please enjoy!

Kansas City MO

Balsano’s on Ward’s Parkway near Broadway for gelato and espresso. Very highly recommended. They also serve sandwiches and salads, but we haven’t tried those, so we can’t vouch for them.

Jerusalem Cafe at Westport and Pennsylvania for middle-eastern cuisine. Very highly recommended. The Jerusalem Dinner Feast gave Joe enough food for two meals, especially including the feta and olives appetizer.

A word of warning about McCoy’s at Westport and Pennsylvania: bring your ID if you want to drink. Joe had left my passport at the hotel, since he doesn’t feel the need to carry papers everywhere, and they would not serve him beer. Not recommended, but serviceable.

Murray’s Ice Creams and Cookies near Westport and Pennsylvania for ice cream. Very highly recommended. They make everything on site, and Joe found their brownie waffle cone dipped in white chocolate incredible, making the ice cream almost an afterthought! They also serve espresso, but we didn’t try it.

Javanaut on W 39th near the KS/MO border for espresso. Recommended. Joe loved the coffee, but Sarah found it middle of the road. They had trouble with their milk steamer, so Sarah got latte when she’d asked for cappuccino. Perhaps we simply disagree on personal taste here.
