96.1 FM is CBC. That's pretty much the only station I listen to here.

Shaddy's in Charlottetown has good falafel, hummus, and fries.

Beanz, Casa Mia, and Timothy's has okay/good coffee.

It's all relative; what seems difficult to one is easy for another, and vice versa. 10 houses sounds very adventuresome to me! :)

@Laura-Jane: Your "adventure" puts ours to shame! I've been reading through your blog and thinking that our trip in no way compares to you guys driving across country, sleeping in the car and working on your house with sub-zero INSIDE temperatures. (I especially liked the picture of the frozen veggie soup in the bowl.) A link to pictures is in the comments of the previous entry that Joe wrote. Maybe our blog will be inspiration for those who want an adventure that doesn't sacrifice any creature comforts. ;) I'm looking forward to joining you as a mainland ex-pat! Thanks for commenting!

Congratulations! It sounds like you guys have it even more figured out than we do, I'm sad to say. :)

We moved to PEI (eastern part of the Island) in 2008 from urban Victoria, BC. We've got a blog, and I'll link to you because I am getting to know a lot of people who want to do a similar thing and they'll love to read your blog.

I look forward to keeping an eye on your progress! I haven't delved very far into your archives yet. Have you posted a picture of your new house?

Happy travels!

@Corey: As long as you're not sick of us by then, I hope you do make it up June-ish!

@Kevin: I don't think I heard the news about the expected one - congrats!! Hope the family can make a trip sometime. (Provided of course we haven't moved again.)

@Ryan: Thanks for the well-wishes. This move will be full of more surprises than the last, and we're by no means under the impression that Summerside won't be a mixed blessing. (But, um, have you checked out where we are now? I think we've demonstrated our tolerance for, well, all that a town does or doesn't have to offer.) We have to talk it up, though, if we want to get house sitters! :D

I lived in Summerside 4 years, I have mixed feelings about the place, but that was just me. The boardwalk is beautiful, even in winter. Everyday I would drive along Water Street on the way back to where I lived in St. Elanor's, and there was always a spectacular, panoramic view of Bedeque Bay. I often thought about taking a picture of the Indian Point lighthouse everyday, to show how dazzling the view could be in so many different ways. There are also a lot of very nice beaches nearby, I won't spoil the suprise, I'll let you find them on your own. Good luck!

Gotta stay near home this summer with the preggie wife and young one, but you have added yourself to my list of places to visit after that!

Of course, you can look us up the next time you are in Philly...
