Although #8 is one good way of saving, we also have to be careful on how we use coupons. Sure they could help us manage our money more but, let's say, you buy something (originally priced at $15) using a coupon at $5 that might seem a good purchase. But this something that you brought (let's say it's a laundry detergent) is only 300 ml as compared to a 500 ml laundry detergent at $7.50, would you still consider it as a saving? :)

Since we moved to center city philly, we normally walk or bike to the stores. That means, we can only take a couple of tote bags and that's it. Also we have noticed that it becomes more enjoyable: we don't spend a lot of time there since our list is smaller. It's a excuse for a small walk with a goal: get some food.

For #14 "Eat a meal before shopping", when we go to Whole Foods, it becomes "Eat a meal while you shop". They have so many products that you can try before you buy. One day I saw this guy walking in with no cart or basket. He might just pick a thing or 2 right? Well no, he was just making his way through the free food stands and not buying anything. He left shortly before me, did not buy anything but enjoyed a good tasting experience.
For the record, my local Whole Foods is so small that you will run into the same people over and over again before you are done. We normally get together at the free food stand. ;)
